My husband and I recently celebrated our wedding anniversay, yep number 12. Three days before we had celebrated our 15 years together. I have to say year thirteen is getting off to a great start!
We got to go away together to enjoy a great concert in Long beach, Ca, about 3 hours from here, but very close to where we grew up. IT was amazing!! This was our first trip away with each other in almost 3 years. We have a date night every 3-6 months but never get to go away together. It was AMAZING...wait did i already mention that! I feel so blessed to be with a man who after 15 years together, still melts my butter!
We had a long talk on the way to Long Beach. we talked about how it wasn't always as easy as it is now for us. During the first few years, especially since we started our family immediately, yes do the math we've been married 12 years and we have a 12 year old. But that was something we intended, she was no accident. Don't judge we were young, and in heine sight kinda crazy. We didn't used to talk like we do now, we weren't as supportive. Kinda like we were young and weren't willing to let the wall come down and just let ourselves love and support each other completely. This might come from the fact that we both had extremely chaotic and somewhat traumatizing childhoods.
We talked about how we are in such a beautiful place now, where there is nothing between us, and we love and respect each other more now than ever before.
Not sure how it happened, how we got here, to this place in our marriage full of just plain awesomeness...but I am so grateful! We both are.
All I know..Is that this marriage just keeps getting better as the years pass by, and I just don't quite know exactly what I did to deserve it.
Regardless...my heart is full.
